After various attempts at communicating concepts like "please stop saying that trans women are universally obsessed with making lesbians touch their penises", and failing, I've concluded that townghost/lvkz is either trolling us or genuinely unable to communicate more successfully. I think the gold standard representative quote remains: Spoiler While this sounds perhaps more positive than not saying it, I think this gives some idea of the level of difficulty we've been having in trying to establish any kind of communication, and the mods are sorta burned out on wading through 20+ posts full of things like this every time he gets in a mood. On the other hand, he's also at least talked about intent to avoid hurting people, and has occasionally reacted in ways that make it seem like he might genuinely just be that confused by what people are upset about, and he might be pursuing some kind of path to getting better or might not (I was never able to tell), so I've set this arbitrarily as a temporary ban, so in theory his account reactivates in May next year and he can try again if he wants.

while i still think he has the potential to be a really cool person, his hair trigger hostility and MAJOR issues around sexuality are something he needs to deal with elsewhere, or else he needs to get much better at communicating and learn enough humility to take criticism basically at all. i think the vacation is a good compromise between the collective mod migraine of his continued presence and a perma-ban.
If I’m remembering correctly, this is the third straight-up ban that’s ever been issued in the history of the site, with the other two being Athol and Alix—correct me if I’m wrong, y’all, I’m tired and congested rn so I might not be super reliable. Either way, given his behavior...I’m not surprised this happened, and mods, I think you were in the right to decide on a ban. I hope some positive change occurs in those six months, if he ever opts to return—I’m honestly not gonna hold my breath but I’m open to him changing my mind if he actually improves his behavior. EDIT: For context, while I wasn’t super involved in the actual forum fires, I considered Luke a friend before he vanished, so I’ve got some emotional stake in his recovery—and am fucking appalled at the shit he pulled here. So basically...I feel bad for him but I don’t think him being here was doing ANYONE any favors, and frankly his behavior was beyond the pale. But I know he’s capable of being cool, or at least he was in the past, so...
There's been short-term bans before, and one permaban, and one "we're not sure" ban that I think is likely to be permanent, and now this "let's try again in a few months". And like, he was around for a couple of years before the recent stuff, and seemed a lot cooler, and maybe he'll calm down.
