i have the mental image of hop telling someone who'd known him pre-transition about his new name and they're like, this is a prank right? right? right? and he's like :( and they're like, oh god, you're serious, you actually picked that name for real it's not a prank
Angel Dust has what appears to be D-cups but from what's been revealed about his backstory it sounds like he was raised male to me. I might be wrong, but my thoughts on this are that he may have Klinefelter's, which can cause a male child to develop feminine characteristics at puberty. Of course it might just be voluminous fur, but this is what I might go for in a human AU.
not so much a headcanon as "i really want to see this version of the thing": Pretty in Pink but Andie is a trans girl
so i was listening to Bruce Springsteen's "Bobby Jean" again recently and like I know it was apparently written as a farewell to a departing bandmember but it's still got just *huge* "me and Bobby Jean were the only trans kids in town and then Bobby Jean couldn't take it any more and lit out for someplace that was less of a hellhole" energy to me.
Best trans headcanon I've found: transmasculine Dirk, versus transfeminine Lil Hal. I don't know if this would work in canon but the idea is amazing.
Shadow Lenna/Shadow Lance from Lenna's Inception was, in-universe, intended to copy the form, items, and probably skills of the prophesied hero Lance (who is a boy) but instead ended up getting unsealed by and copying the form of Lenna, who isn't a prophesied hero and is also a woman. This probably makes shadow Lenna some form of canonically trans. Personally I imagine that she was given a lot of male forms to copy and was assumed to be a man (since she was destined to be an optional miniboss for a boy hero) but then when she copied Lenna she decided that she was actually a woman, but another valid interpretation is that all shadowpeople are genderfluid (taking on the gender of whoever they copy) or that shadowpeople don't have gender at all and just use whatever pronouns the person they copied uses because convenience.
The 2017 incarnation of Daffy Duck at one point looks in complete puzzlement at a DMV form and says "I don't even know what to put for 'gender'", and his white neck ring is apparently his grandma's pearl necklace. He also can't tell male and female children apart, and I figure he's both self-centred and ditzy enough that if he didn't understand how standard gender cues ""should"" apply to him, he wouldn't bother learning how they applied to anyone else either.
bugsnax: i agree with the current fandom consensus that chandlo is trans i also like trans wiggle, and the player character is obviously NB like why would they be anything else
Gideon Nav is trans. My argument is "I would like if she were trans and also my girlfriend headcanons her as trans too".
harrow's gender is "woman with a dick". my argument for this is "that is my gender as a woman go fuck yourselves".
owl house has so many queer characters, that i have the far off hope that hunter is transmasc tbh there's no evidence for it, this is just something that makes me happy to think about
Alice in the Tim Burton incarnation is bigender, genderfluid, or transmasc of some variety. The Hatter calls her a "him", and the nature of Wonderland is such that the nonsensical comments, while strange and often unhelpful, are never strictly wrong.
I've been playing Arknights, which is a gacha game where most of the characters are animal-people. Besides this being indicated through things like horns/feathers/tails/cat ears/etc., most characters have their theme animal in their character art when they reach a particular level, which has resulted in a number of characters being what I have called "accidentally canonically trans" when the animal has visible sexual dimorphism. My favorite example is Pinecone, who has a pileated woodpecker theme, because unlike deer girls with antlers or a lion girl whose lions have manes, her theme doesn't get any less recognizable without the dimorphic feature, which is literally just that a stripe on the woodpecker's face is red instead of black. I spent a while googling woodpecker species worldwide to double-check that I didn't have the species wrong and everything. Also, there's another character with a frog theme who has an alternate outfit where she's wearing a sports bra in trans flag colors.
just finished rereading Jingo for the first time in a long time. Nobby Nobbs is. transfemme?? in a way that was at least partly intentional by the author. this is not where I was expecting to find my queer rep today.
Starcatcher (MLP Gen 3) is coloured like the trans flag and was given a masculine voice in movie appearances and accidentally called a he in one of the books.
psychonauts: raz is a trans boy and picked his own name, and norma is a trans girl who goes a little overboard on making her voice sound right to her and that's why she sounds slightly strained for every line except that one slightly deeper one also, various forms of being queer are really common amongst psychics, including being trans, so probably a bunch of the background characters are also trans
Sailor Uranus uses "boku" in Japanese, a form of "I" usually used by young boys, so in English that could translate as a he/him lesbian as well as various forms of nonbinary.
Barbie movie character Erika Juno is, in megacrossover friends and I are doing, going to be a no-pronoun NB, just because "Erika Juno" is an awesome name and should be said as often as possible (though "EJ" is probably more convenient).
