i like them! I think they're interesting, they don't quite match up with the kind of stuff you'd find in most myths, but they are a thing! they get introduced about midway through the first arc? i think?

there's a lot of interesting implications around them, especially with their relation to trolls and how they're treated

I am too braindead to explain the changelings but one thing that always makes me mad is how like. NONE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS HAVE EVER BOTHERED ASKING IF NOTENRIQUE THE CHANGELING HAS A REAL NAME AND THAT MAKES ME SAD/MAD

OKAY so i gathered my thoughts. Note: there is some spoilers

Spoiler: Changelings in The Show

Changelings are a kind of troll in the show, that were modified to be able to take on human form. They are used to replace humans and infiltrate the human world. There's supposedly hundreds of changelings out and about.

Changelings get the fucking SHAFT in this show. They are treated horribly, are aligned with the antagonists, but holy shit. Literally no one ever from humans to trolls treats them with an ounce of respect. They're constantly called things like Impure, they're treated with physical abuse, and generally are just. Really fucking ground into the dirt.

There's several changelings who are important in the series, Stricklander, Nomura, and NotEnrique.

Like for me, they are literally some of the most sympathetic characters in the whole fucking series. They were literally taken as kids and then had something horrible done to them so they could be turn into humans, then were forced to replace humans. (Who are then kept in the troll bad guy realm as familiars, which is what allows them to turn into their human counterpart) And like. IDK DUDE THEY MAKE ME VERY SAD AND UPSET AND I IDENTIFY WITH THEM A LOT
