Other thoughts so far...I like the battle system a lot more. It's prettier looking. Sounds nicer. I don't seem to be punished for how I take my combat so I can do either or as I feel like without getting bored. Really like the patterns so far bullet wise. Honestly I like leaving as many enemies on the field as I can thus far to get The Hardest Patterns. And there's a reason to graze now! Wow! Mmm. Grazing. Really hoping there's at least one really tough boss. I will be able to deal with kind of tough boss but I do hope there's like one secret thing that's like a ballbuster gotta be good at the danmaku shooting game to beat kind of deal.

Yeah, there's an optional boss. I've not played undertale or delta rune but have watched both and he seems. kinda Wild to fight, people upthread have been talking about how insane of a battle it is. You gotta keep your eyes out for the keys to unlock it though.

It fits the evidence, as far as it goes, but the tone strikes me as annoyingly "I have solved deltarune for you, you're welcome." And it seems a little too pat for a Toby Fox plot.

 

oh, it's definitely not the end of it. There will absolutely be a twist in the full game, that takes these pieces of evidence and gives them a completely different meaning. It's just neat to know what's there to be seen.

Fuck I have a whole lot to say but I’m very tired so I’ll keep it short and sweet.

I’m not done, but I’m 2 hours in. Almost at the big boss fight.

Kris is definitely dealing with some serious personal issues. With what’s been said about other characters commenting on their extroverted behavior, they probably have serious depression or social dysfunctions. Who is ripping out whose soul at the end? I guess we’ll find out.

Ralsei is. Odd. We’re missing something important here. He’s a “prince from the dark.” But we’ve already met the four kings, and he doesn’t mention being related to any of them. So where are HIS parents? Who is HE? Why does no one else seem eager to help the heroes like he does? But he is very nice and sweet and endearing.

He has stats for cuteness and fluffiness. What do those do? Are they flavor, or do they actually affect something?

Lancer is pretty good. Seems a bit simplistic, he’s a goofball who’s trying to be a bad guy because that’s what his dad wants but is too dumb to be very effective at it. Wants to please people. Nice, quirky, let’s see what happens.

Susie is Best New Character. She’s definitely been forced into being “the bad kid”, whether it’s because of her looks, her anger, or just circumstance. And she just accepted it. “Your choices don’t matter.” HER choices don’t matter, or at least she felt they didn’t. So she just became a bad kid. But she wants to be good, and is actually decent at it once she tries. Also, still a total badass with a battle axe. And I loved her “throw Ralsei at the enemy” plan.

Of course as a Vriska and Undyne fan, who’s surprised she’s my favorite?

The theme of “your choices don’t matter” is fake. Calling it now. Too obvious, too negative, too front and center. You might THINK your choices don’t matter but that’s not how it works. Am I right? We’ll see.

I dunno what to say about Gaster, didn’t really care about him before.

Clover is a great NPC monster, up there with Onion-San the squid from undertale. In waterfaaaaaaaall!

Christmas Reindeer Girl is gay, I like her. She has good taste.
