Haha, I totally get that - pun loving dorks in love are amazing. I honestly would expect myself to ship them, I'm kind of surprised that I don't! *shrug*
And likewise, I definitely don't knock the people who do ship them. It just doesn't.......float my boat.

I think I ship Sans and Toriel as moirails, actually. Feelings-jammy diamond-love would do both of them some good.

edit: Obviously. Like, Sans is coping with A Lot of Shit which he could finally offload to someone mature enough to handle it. And Toriel has a lot of guilt+loneliness over all the children she lost. So now they finally have someone to talk to about all of it! Feelingsssssss

And, I dunno. They unravel the mysteries surrounding Sans and go save Gaster or something. It'd be great.

I think in fandom circles it's kinda impossible to have any real close relationship without sparking some shipping, and it's kinda weird to me to see that as a "oh, you think dudes and chicks can't just be friends" thing when friend/friend ships are pretty ubiquitous regardless of gender.

but yeah, Sans and Toriel seem to make each other happy, and I think that's the best possible thing, platonic or not.

 

I'm not saying that it feels like any particular person that ships it feels that way, just that the idea of the ship makes me feel that way. I don't interact with fandom much, so I can't really say what's ubiquitous or not.

I think I fell in dokis with sans when he made his first pun and it was just 'eeeeeeee i love this terrible punster'. But the real crush happened twoards the end of the pacifist run in the hotel scene. Because I have a terrible thing for badass ominously threatening characters and Sans pulls his sudden threats off so well (I want a bunch of shirts with Sans Quotes in his intimidating font (i thin it's Sans Serif in all caps, instead of his usual comic sans in all lower caps, but I could be wrong?), above all

• "*Y O U A R E G O N N A H A V E A B A D T I M E"
• *buddy. *Y O U ' D H A V E B E E N D E A D W H E R E Y O U S T A N D."

I need these shirts in my life, they are such good quotes. Idk if the second one works without the surrounding context, but on a big tent of a shirt dress I could easily print the preceding lines too and make it a bit more ominous.
I also kinda want to be Sans for halloween now oops. Might film a facepaint experiment for that

I am really uninterested in actively shipping Sans and Toriel. It is a nice ship and it is definitely how I read their interactions but I am just kind of eh on it. Outside of being able to say "The skeleton is boning my mom".

Now Asgore/Toriel. That's the interesting shit. Fucking left him over his bullshit? IT HAS DRAMA. TENSION. BLOODSHED. THE DEATH OF MULTIPLE CHILDREN. Also crushing the dreams of the Dogi.
