Idk if this has been brought up before, but I just made a connection. Chara belonged to a village where as soon as they saw a monster carrying a dead human, they jumped to an awful conclusion and killed him. No wonder Chara hated humanity. In their village, there was a lot to hate.
So i had this big debate with a friend of mine about how to pronounce Chara. Bel told me his opinion as the "ch" as in "character", but my friend said the "ch" was pronounced as "choose". I said the same as Bel because "chaos" has almost the same spelling as Chara.
i personally pronounce the ch as in choose, but that's because i'm weird. I'd probably pronounce it as chara like in character if I thought that sounded less weird. -shrug-
I pronounce it like character. What do you think of Toriel's pronunciation? To me, it seems like it's obviously supposed to be like "tutorial" without the tu, but I see LPers pronouncing it like ToriYELL and it kind of bugs me.
I go with "Al - fis" like pal fish/fist. And I use Chara like "Care - uh" like character. And Toriel... eh. I say something closer to Tori-yell, but I don't emphasize the y at all. It's more like "TOR ee ELL".
I normally parse it like al-FEE-us, like an additional u at the end for no real reason? I think Jacksepticeye also pronounces it like that.
I've really been getting into undertale/OFF crossovers lately particularly the sans/the judge parallels and I've done some pictures, if anyone wants a look? http://aethergeologist.tumblr.com/post/140812640455/aethergeologist-victories-i-wasnt-joking and http://aethergeologist.tumblr.com/post/140812625045/aethergeologist-undertales-genocide-route-and
one of my favorite things about the game grumps playthroughs is of the sans fight in the geno run. because the sans fight is fucking annoying and difficult, the guy who voiced papyrus decided to tell skeleton "jokes" while the sans guy tried fighting. people loved it, and a few people did art of parts of it. such as
I seek out genocide lps and skip to the sans part sometimes because seeing people lose to sans gives me satisfaction.
Is it bad that I like the genocide run, but prefer to spare the main characters. I mean I like how Toby added in a kill everything mode, and it makes me feel like a psychopath(which I love), but I cry everytime you have to kill Sans or Papyrus or Mettaton.
i'm writing a lengthy analysis on how the Sans fight relates to the nature and significance of play by huizinga but i'm a big weenie and couldn't even get that far on my own so i think you're fine :P If that's bad then I am double bad and need to git gud
ooooo this sounds fascinating *chinhands* might you link here when it's done? or else provide summary or something?
Depending on where it ends up and whether I get permission to post the video (!!!!) on youtube (since it's a college project, albeit not graded) but since I'm fucking proud of my outline rn I probably will :3
