that gave me the mental image of frisk missing the path at the end of pacifist and walking into a wall instead because they were crying.
i was thinking more, frisk manages to save asriel and then they proceed to walk into a wall instead of out the barrier
timelines ending in failure due to sobbing would be either earlier, or if frisk accidentally walked off a cliff due to crying. or maybe if they walked into snowdin forest by mistake and got lost.
Years later, legend tells of a stranger who came into the underground. No one knew them well, but it's commonly known they were human, with a power to walk through walls, cut scenes, and text dialogues alike. And in the brief hour or so that they passed through the underground, they broke the barrier and set monsterkind free. Sans suspects, but doesn't know and doesn't care to work to find out, that they moved outside ordinary time and space like someone else he never really knew. If it ever occurred to him to hope they're not lonely, he'd hope that somehow that enigmatic human, that flower, and the previous royal scientist are now powwowing peacefully and happily.... wherever they are.
So I don't get it, how does the punchcard exploit work? Does it use the in game punchcard for the nice cream guy? If so, how do you use it?
Yes. It uses the punchcards from the nice cream guy. You use the card and then you have a 1 frame window to do an input. Because the card resets your value you can do shit like move during cutscenes or when you're pushed into the air in Hotland.
an addition to the undertale foodiscourse: the fact that the nice cream doesn't melt in your inventory and the dimensional boxes is more support for monster food being something fundamentally different than human food. and yeah, the nice cream not melting is probably pretty doylist too 'cause programming it to melt would take a lot of effort for little reward, but it ties into this thing about monster food anyway, i think.
Fortunate for the Nice Cream guy or else his business would really be out of luck over there in Hotland
yep. though i reckon if the nice cream actually did melt, setting up his business in mtt's hotel instead would work. i may be wrong but it seems like there should be air conditioning in there.
