Yeah, I think it's just him using the same sense of humor he displays in the game's writing. I've heard that there's apparently a few ridiculous phrases hidden in unused parts of Undertale's code, one of which is just the word 'bepis', so I think it's probably a running joke of some kind.
@unknownanonymous a friend on plurk just suggested the voice of Charles Lee for Papyrus. As in "I'M A GENERAL, WHEEE!" I'm giggling a lot
Ghibli-style, scared cat-style, or somewhere in between? Either way I hadn't thought of it before but I'm thinking of it now and it's great :D
Somewhere in between! So they just. Floof. Also, boss monsters having manes like lions-the men get manes, some NB boss monsters get manes, the women don't get manes.
Asgore's hair certainly is mane-ish, which puts them at... part goat, part lion, part dragon. ...Wait a fucking minute. A boss monsters is a single-headed chimera???
I've been thinking of them as either lion-maned furry dragons, or lion-wolpertingers with tiny useless wings.
There's at least some goat in the mix, with their ears and overall face shapes. But mane and paw patterns are very lion, the horns and fire magic are more draconic.
i can't help but grin like an idiot whenever i think about the fact that it is actually optimal to let papyrus win when speedrunning undertale on the neutral/pacifist route i bet it boosts papyrus' confidence so much that he keeps beating all these exceptionally talented gamers
It's pretty much double perfect too, because Lee's criticism of Washington sounds similar to Papyrus' criticism Asgore at one point. I'm too amused.
oh that! i definitely see why it didn't come to mind immediately, especially when it comes to comparing it to lee in stay alive. 'cause, like, lee wants to fite washington, to tear him down and ruin his reputation, and all papyrus is doing is disagreeing with asgore in a joking tone. i think the only person pap gets even close to that angry at is sans.
