Hey it’s been a minute since I did job grumbles. Heat stroke. Inside of mail truck can be more than 20 degrees hotter than the air outside. Today heat index was 97ish in my area and the interior of the truck heated to 115. I was drinking water all day. Hydro flask full of ice. Drinking as much as I possibly could and it wasn’t enough. My last neighborhood takes me.half an hour on a day like today. Took me an hour and a half because of the heat. There is no air conditioning in the mail trucks. There is a fan that blows the hot air from the engine onto you, or the auxiliary fan that blows the hot hair from outside onto you. Climate change is happening, only gonna keep.happening. People are dying. People are getting sick like I did today. None of us have ever seen a summer like this. If you think about your mailman, keep an eye out for them this summer. I'm not gonna beg everyone to stuff their mailboxes full of frozen water, but if you're moved to care for your neighbor, the kindness will always return to you.
HR is gonna wait till the last possible second to tell us if we’re delaying for the hurricane :) We already are going to have 3 days worth of mail Tuesday because of Labor Day Monday :) I have to stay at D’s parents house an hour from work bc safety :) County I work in is Out of Gas and I’m gonna need more before this hurricane shit is over :)
We are Delayed! No work until "perhaps Wednesday". Post Master called personally. I've literally spoken to him once before now. I have gas and food. Winds will probably hit 45-60 mph in my home area and about the same in my work area. The overtime we're gonna have is gonna be $$$
To extrapolate on the above. Manager told us to falsify our work times so it reflected we got to work at 8 instead of when she told us to be there, 7 This is falsifying federal records. It is illegal. And since the shitty sexist manager left, I've been trying to help this dumb lady get her head out of her ass and do her job. That said. I called the union. And folks in the office are angry at me for it. Bc they've "always" worked off the clock. Like. Yeah yall stupid. Y'all have been working.here for in some cases 30+ years and you wanna yell at me bc you don't wanna make your money??? Then I got called a greedy bitch and I'm basically being bullied so that's fun lmao

Having trouble at work with coworkers. Too much jargon / speficic rules to say what problems are. But basically. It's exhausting being friendly and being over-helpful isn't helping me. It goes against my nature. Makes me mad.
