Don't you know that the first thing you have to do when you basically time travel 500 years is hop on tumblr and get up on the appropriate lingo
this is DC comics fandom. A is Suren Darga, B is Maya Ducard, and C is Damian Wayne. Suren and Maya pretty much only show up in the Robin: Son of Batman series (though maya also showed up for two issues in the current Superman series) so it's easy enough to read everything they're in. (INCIDENTALLY, CANON GRIPE: DC, you did not need to try and recreate the Teen Titans cartoon team. the whole 'we need to learn to work As A Team and As A Family' thing doesn't WORK if half your cast has already been on the same team, for years, and also a good few of them have their OWN lives and families and superteams to be on. you could have had an actual kid superhero team with characters who already knew each other enough that they'd be down with being on a team together, but who could still benefit from the learning to work together/found family aspect, and UGH. missed opportunities) (petition for a superhero team feat. damian wayne, maya ducard, suren darga, and jon kent. i want this SO MUCH. they have enough preexisting interactions that you're not starting from scratch, and they could work together and do the team thing, but not they don't know each other SO well that you can't do a lot of relationship building.and there's enough variety in HOW they relate to each other, and in their personalities and skillsets and personal issues, that you could have a lot of fun!)
When posting fanfic on dA, it would really help if people would remember to put the warnings at the top of the text, not in the notes section at the bottom, so I can actually see it before I click it and get an eyeful of squick. It would also be nice if people warned for underage content in obviously fetishy fic and not neglect to do so just because the characters' genitals aren't directly involved. It's downright creepy when that happens.
First paragraph of this fic, POV character keeps flipping back and forth between mentally labeling the other character as a man and a boy every other sentence. Friendo, there are other words you can use to describe a collage age person if you're stuck on how a peer would refer to their own classmate (hint: probably not as either of those things).
They should obviously be calling this other guy the "male", though it would be best if they can make reference to his hair color and whether he's taller or shorter than everyone else, to make the narrative really flow.
Personal gripe that has nothing to do with any weirdness in existing fic: I crave Eridan whump and there is none to be found ;_;
Well in that case, they should be referred to as their zodiac signs, like Scorpio, or Derp. *has actually seen John referred to as The Derp.* *shudders*
"the one with buckteeth" alternatively, "the one with glasses," detailed description of said glasses optional but encouraged
Now we're back to that one which kept saying "the Gryffindor" in scenes in which everyone involved was a Gryffindor.
That just makes me think of what a person with blue hair would be shortly referred to. I mean, that's kind of what torture is for. Not sexually, but same basic idea.
Something which ought to remind people to proofread; an entry of babb-chronicles was the line "You kidnapped wrong fucking the kids." Most unfortunate word transposition ever?
