That just reminds me of harm that's been done to people kept prisoner by sexually abusive family, honestly. Can't recall the case right now but it fucked the girl up. Bad.

that's only a gripe if you're reading something with porn that's intended to be 'realistic'
otherwise it's just standard size kink

It should probably be tagged if it is size kink, but yeah.

    Two gripes, two fandoms!

writer, I've only seen one season of leverage (over and over again because this was one of those stations that replayed various tv shows, and it was only the one season) but I'm pretty sure Elliot isn't going to be that out and out rude to Parker and Hardison, telling them both to shut up, and interrupting them while he talks.

even if they're talking while he's trying to As You Know Bob in a fusion fic with the Librarians.

dragonrider of pern writer, you have created an au where a) Lessa is somewhat traumatized by being weyrmates with F'lar and her first Flight, and Kylara impresses a bronze instead of a gold. b) you have Kylara having definite interest in Lessa, which Lessa does not return, see reason a, plus a mildly ooc self esteem problem.

(Author writes Lessa as a traumatized former drudge, not a traumatized saboteur and one woman resistance.)

I am not sure Kylara declaring what a great lay she is will change Lessa's mind that sex is horrifying. Maybe you should ah, consider building an actual relationship between them?

idk what kind of 'rude' you're talking about, but eliot is canonically pretty tsundere with those two, even when he clearly adores them. he talks a lot of shit.

Jean Let’s stop procrastinating -- tomorrow!

Two teenagers with boatloads of Issues and interupted educations are not going to speak so formally and precisely to each other, and they especially aren't going to disclose their entire life stories the first time they meet. They don't sound like people; they sound like little machines.

This was dismissive/contempt rude, or at least that's the way I was reading it. Not tsundere. It was kind of upsetting. :\ The writer may have been trying for shit talking, but was failing by about a mile. There was also some fail with the As You Know Bobbing while the writer attempted to sew the two shows together.

There is insufficient fanfic of type: Exactly What I Want

What does 'exactly what I want' entail? Wow, I bet it sure would be helpful if I was able to answer that question in any way, shape, or form.

oh, yeah, no. he's not contemptuous or dismissive of them. his trash talk is more about how parker is crazy and hardison is a nerd.

finally found some spideypool where peter doesn't completely ignore the fact that wade does a lot of murders, and they went too far the other direction. their spidey is so sanctimonious he's like cartoon captain america.

come on, there are actual spideypool comics, there's no smoochin in them but there are canon teamups to reference, how come absolutely no one can write fanfic without going wildly ooc?

plus everyone's absolutely crap at witty banter, but i forgive that sorta, it's hard to write.

This isn't the fault of fanfic in itself, but I recently asked on a different site if there were any niches within a genre which fit with what I already know I can write, and I basically got bitched out about how I can't write to market so I'll never amount to anything writing-wise :( I know I'm just writing for a DIFFERENT market, but I'm kind of upset by the implication there and worried about my possibilities of paid writing.

@jacktrash have you read I Like Birds by chinashopbull? It’s spideypool feat. autistic!Peter and the only spideypool fic I’ve really liked. Been a minute since I read it, but as far as I remember it does pretty well on the points you mentioned.

Not sure if I'm griping, but, I just read a fic use the phrase "cover his tracks" to mean "reconstruct his movements." On the one hand, it's pretty much the opposite of correct, on the other hand, it's an interesting idiom for a concept that doesn't have a casual meaning.

if they'd gone with "recover his tracks" would it have been any better?

We get it, you're really smart for coming up with a world where the equivalent of the gender binary is dom/sub rather than man/woman. That just makes "gay" relationships kinda frustrating-sounding, though.

uh... no, I don't think they think they're being clever, that's one of those really well-established idfic tropes like a/b/o and Sentinel AUs. (All of them send me running for the hills, but that's why we have Kinktomato.)

Oh, in this specific case I think it was an attempt at interesting worldbuilding. To clarify, it's not even social roles as in most a/b/o stuff, basically that setting has sexual reproduction tied to whether you're literally a dom or a sub in the BDSM way.
And I understand what they're going for, I guess, but then how does the "gay" sex they heavily imply is a thing work in a way that isn't just frustrating for the people involved?
