OKAY HERE IT IS, I wrote it very quickly before finishing my first energy drink so it’s very good: The meme began on Tumblr, with a post That said the show was not progressive, ‘cause Pearl hasn’t said the word we love the most— The best of swears that ever is or was. I’d say it’s still progressive, to be true, But I still feel a kinship with OP. I think, OP, that we’re all just like you. It’s something that we’d really like to see! Alas, the show’s allegedly for kids, So sadly it will never be allowed. And so I wrote this poem, yes I did To scream my thoughts about it, very loud: “Now look, that gem’s got truly awful luck— If I were Pearl, I know that I’d say fuck.” (edited way later bc i fucked up a line x_x)
Anyway, actually on topic, it depends for me on whether or not I feel like that specific character might swear in that specific context. For instance, I can, like LadyNighteyes said, absolutely see Amethyst (and a few other characters honestly) swearing like a sailor when Steven isn’t present, but if I encountered a fic where, idk, Garnet was dropping F-bombs constantly, I’d probably find it OOC?
Garnet is the equivalent of the MPAA's one fuck rule. She gets one fuck and one fuck for the eternity of all time. It must be carefully used, that one fuck.
What about her components though? Does Ruby say fuck? Does Sapphire? #genuinely considering making a “do they say fuck?” thread at this point tbh

Ambiguous endings that are so ambiguous that I not only don't know what the hell happened, I don't know if it qualifies as an ending. (Basically, the scene involves someone deciding to help a cop with an investigation of a couple who may or may not have murdered three of their friends. Much to the surprise of the would be investigator, who has been invited to a party hosted by the couple, he is greeted as if the hostess knows who he is. This leads her to suspect she is insane. He does however explain he has know idea who she is, until he'd been invited to the party. Hostess further explains that she knows him from a vision she'd had thirty years previously.) And then the story ends. The only thing I know is that it was the Fionavar Tapestry fandom and otherwise I have no idea of what's going on in this story because there are no explanations and it doesn't so much end as flomph.
A gripe about formatting: You would think that someone seeing that there were no lines breaking up the paragraphs of their story, would do something to fix it. I mean, it is not that hard a problem to see or to fix. Yet somehow, time after time, I want to read a story and I can't because someone didn't bother to separate the paragraphs out.
Spoiler: nsfw and painful I don't understand where some writers of fanfic and hentai got the idea that hitting someone's ovaries would make them ovulate, or that it's possible to feel the egg cell.
mind you, it's possible to feel the ovulation because it's lowkey ow but you can't like....make that happen by hitting/squeeezing/whatever and it ain't pleasant. It's called 'mittelschmerz' (middle pain) for a reason. Not everyone gets them, and even those who do not all the time, but like...that's a genuine thing human anatomy does. Spoiler: medical details 'why can you feel that?!' well, because the ovum does quite literally pop out of the ovary (more accurately, the follicle it matured in. Spoiler: ovulation talk: why reproduction is such a crapshoot the best thing about ovulation in humans (and other mammals) is that... there's no connection between the fallopian tube and ovary. the infundibulum of a fallopian tube (the end near the ovary) is "fimbriated", covered with many cilia that are there to basically sweep the oocyte into the tube proper. this is not a foolproof process! oocytes can get lost because they don't get properly swept up into the fallopian tube. just another one of the many aspects of reproduction that makes it such an iffy prospect Anyway. yep, ovulation is detectable for some people because it's not the most, uh, streamlined process.
That's also why extra-uterine pregnancies happen: the ovum can just literally float about in there and if it does that while fertilized Shit Can Happen
Yeah, I've heard of people feeling the process of ovulation, but you can't actually get hold of the egg cell and feel it in your hand, which is what some writers claim is happening. Also, I have heard of induced ovulation, but a) that doesn't happen in humans and b) in the species it does happen in it doesn't work like that. I mean, with most hentai anatomy weirdness I can see why it's supposed to be sexy even if the result is bizarre. This just sounds like someone massively misunderstood something somewhere along the way.
