What are your writing quirks?

Nah, I don't care if other people do it, I just don't do it much myself. Other people can talk like Karkat and the worst I'll do is occasionally take the profanity literally for the purposes of a snarky joke. :::PPP

 

Let's list this out:

• Saying ah/um but "Hey ah" is a common intro to a question
• Lots of profanity
• An informal style similar to how I speak (this comes up more in like actually writing)
• Odd pedantic words thrown in
• Caps lock for emphasis
• Adopting an even less formal style and using "u" as you for sarcasm
• Sarcasm
• Saying indeed to agree as well as aight

I think that's it.

 

- Switching between formal register and typing lk ths jst bc with little in between
- 'So,' ... trying to break this habit
- At some point I started saying 'bruh' ironically and now it's part of my normal speech and typing, oops
- I swear way too fucking much
- As for dialect, I speak straight-up Great Lakes English with a specific city flavour... except I don't use 'pop'. It's 'soda'. It just is.

 

Uh idk I don't really pay too close attention to how I write. Things I can think of though would be

• Types haha instead of lol
• Uses the -_- emoticon pretty regularly to convey slight annoyance
• Forgets to put an end period on last sentence typed or purposely does it b/c it "feels right"
• Probably overuses " and () when typing long things
• Stretches things by threes. Like, "holy shiiit"
• Usually three exclamation points and if not definitely more than one for excitement emotion
• Usually everything's in all lowercase, the only reason it's not now is because my laptop's inaccessible at the moment and the tablet I'm borrowing auto fixes everything
• Tends to overuse commas and say also and because too much
• Alternates between using apostrophes and not
• Puts a : if I'm typing something and Am about to add photos next
• Often thinks faster than I can type and end up forgetting words, smashing things together, and putting the letters in the wrong order
• Specifically tablet edition: the words "autocorrect" incorrectly sometimes and put a ridiculously random word in place of the word I was going for. I usually catch it before posting or right after, but I have no doubt there's some posts around here that make no sense in some places.
• Posts are pretty stream of conciousness
