Tales of Symphonia and Ace Attorney. switching between 1 and 3 for AA, as i'm playing through the whole series w/ a friend.
Salt and Sanctuary casually. Just got done running FF4. Picking up Lttp as a speedgame just to try it out. Did a blind run to the master sword and timed it just to see what it was like and the answer is "more than twice the WR". So we have a lot to learn from tricks and routing! And also just getting better at the game. Salt and Sanctuary I've yet to beat because I am addicted to making new characters and fucking about instead of progressing. Though I have actually made more progress on Kindrie, the cleric. Just got past the Disemboweled Husk as him and I'm sitting around in the Mire of Stench. I must continue on through Blight Town: the 2D Metroidvania Edition. Showing a friend of mine the game because he can't stand playing it. Made a thief who is named Jame for very obvious reasons. Knives and guns are my go to weapons with her though I also have a mace around. Mostly because it is extra blunt and therefore changes a 50/50 slash/strike percentage to 25/75. Which is good for when I actually need to deal with shit that is strong to slash.
Been playing the Zero Escape series. I'm generally bad at puzzle games but this time around I am bound and determined to not look up walkthroughs, and I'm determined but slightly less so to get all the endings myself, again, without a walkthrough. HERE'S THE PROBLEM WITH THAT SECOND BIT... Every little choice effects the ending to my knowledge and one ending has to be unlocked before the true ending can be played. This was easy in the first game, given it only has 6 endings. According to the box, the second one has 24. Even though the first game only had 6 endings, I still had to look up a walkthrough for the safe/letter ending, and consequently the true ending seeing as how that one was the one you needed to unlock the true ending. 24 different endings is going to be the end of me, carl. But I love them so far. I've only played 999 and the sexual innuendos were perfectly catered to my shit brain. God bless.
From what I've heard, VLR has a much better system for letting you change choices and look at different endings than 999 did, for whatever that's worth. Like, it lets you jump to any scene and replay from there, rather than making you play the entire game a bunch of times in a row.
Advice for the second game: ignore the in-game note-taking capability for anything long-term unless you want to throw your DS out the window in rage. Write down anything you learn, for instance, in an ending, on paper or your computer. And yeah, the second and third game are MUCH better about getting to scenes you need for endings.
oh, sweet. thanks guys :D im used to taking notes irl by now so I havent even noticed vlr has a note taking system, pft also, i did just finish 999 a few hours ago, and DAMM im good at sudoku
I keep meaning to go back to the third one which I am blanking on the title of, but... It's hard to pick up again after not playing for like five months. And the format is really weird. I don't know if format is the right word, but whatever. The way the story is presented is thematically appropriate, but it makes the game less enjoyable for me. Sigh.
I'm a lazy bum and 999 tended to remember most non-puzzle related codes so I thought I was cool until I wasn't. I only use the built-in notes for puzzle notes now because reasons. I don't remember if the third one did the same thign because by then I was all "HAH I'm onto you" and was already taking notes down elsewhere.
played through momodora because pixelly metroidvania is the ultimate self-care genre for me. also playing a bunch of sil and bullet heaven
I have a soft spot for Bullet Heaven because a) it's the only bullet hell game I've actually played and b) the second one made the "dodging rain" jokes a reality. :::PPP
The bad news: Guess who does not currently have computer access and so is still waiting to play the latest episode of Pokémon Reborn, let alone continue with Umineko? :( The good news: Guess who got the FE14 gay hack installed just in time for the final route? :D
I got an airship in FF9 and I'm on the last case of AA6. And I want Keltena to be able to play more Umineko because I want to see what they have to say about it. :::PPP
I think that's the Dark Souls experience TM. I feel like it's designed to keep throwing you for a loop. (I could not get past Sen's Fortress)
FFXV.... 92 hours in and counting (on my first replay to try and wash the taste of heartbreak out of my soul). I love these roadtrip boys.
