I made a lower-fat substitute for my fave takeout at home!
I got a couple buttons from some pals as a late bday gift, and one of them was drawn by their toddler daughter...it’s so dang cute (just like the kid herself!) and I love it so much ;0;
Over seemingly insurmountable odds, i passed my cmaa certification exam!!! I am now a licensed medical administrative assistant!!!!!! Once my card comes in the mail
HELL YEAH, so friggin proud of you dude!!!!! <3
My gf had been kinda depressed lately because she got rejected from all her top choice grad school programs, but yesterday she got an offer to do a post-bac job at her lab next year! It's super relieving for her to have employment next year, and also it would be logistically easier in every way (we wouldn't have to pack up and move during a pandemic). It would also mean we don't have to live with her parents or our toxic roommate anymore, which would be great for her mental health and mine. She's sounding more hopeful about the future than she has in a while and it feels really nice :)
Roommates got us coffee containers and the decaf one is now Bees (i maintain it's beecaf)
and a matching mug for meeeeee
Pictured with the spoon rest they got a few months ago, because in this house I will not stop saying that I think bees are neat
I’m legit tearing up a lil, I can’t believe the level of love I keep getting from my readers ;0;
Won a small competition for my writing. The other entries into the competition were... kind of weak. One was really poorly edited, and the other was in the wrong subsection of the competition, but my personal score was still extraordinarily high. 4.21/5 with all of my lowest scores being for "presentation," something that I maintain has absolutely no place in a writing competition. Without judging my plain black and white google doc on presentation I would have gotten a 4.38/5.
This thread of creepy occurrences suggested as hooks for RPGs, some of which are just funny.
Spoiler: cut for length
And some are actually terrifying.
Spoiler: nightmare fuel
It's my birthday, im 24 :)
(I'm going to be 25 in a year wtf)
Many happy returns!
B R Ö T H, hope you have a rad bday!! <3
I forgot to mention i bought a new car (old one got in a fender bender and it was a cheap car so totalled it)
(we were all fine)
ive got a little Ford Focus from 2008 with a few hundred miles shy of 80,000. I call it my basic bitch car, and since nothing else has grabbed me I might call her Bibi for short.
logged back into my old ao3 account for the first time in about a year (I've a new one that can't be traced to my tumblr for reasons of wanting to write things antis would disapprove of without the fear of getting doxxed) and someone had left a comment on the multi-chapter fic i started in like 2016 and didn't finish until I spontaneously picked it back up in 2020 and, idk. I very easily think some pretty negative things about my writing, especially my older pieces, but there's actual proof people got some joy out of that one, and that's sort of the point, isn't it? Not the only point or the most important point, but like
if people get joy out of something i've created, that in itself makes it worth existing, doesn't it? Isn't that something I could be proud of?
so I'm trying to sit with that feeling for a while! Because at the end of the day, (most of) the things I write are a labour of love, and it does mean something and it does matter, to get to share that with other people, even if I'm not doing anything big or innovative. I'm allowed!
on a less bittersweet but still related note someone left a four paragraphs long comment on my most recent fic (which is basically pwp!!!) and it took me an unreasonably long time to actually compose a reply bc everytime I tried to read it so I could respond properly my brain went !!!!! and positively flooded me with serotonin
HOLY FUCKING SHIT LOOK AT THIS LADY (probably technically NSFW because she's poledancing in a bikini)
That pause frame, how
Poledancing is crazy impressive, the amount of strength and control necessary to move like that and look graceful while at it
I found another one and I want to be this woman. (TW: uncanny-valley jerky zombie movements.) This is exactly the style I wanna be able to do, once I can start dancing again, albeit obviously at a lower level at the moment. I believe "gorelesque" is an appropriate term.
