What made YOU happy recently?

The existence of Futurama, especially the Leela bits. She makes me wanna sing and do silly dances. Also fry is hugely relatable because just like me, he's kinda stupid but all heart

Futurama is what really sparked my passion for animation as a storytelling medium. It’s such a good show!! And it was one of my formative sci-fi works, alongside Hitchhiker’s Guide, which honestly explains a lot about me.

Also fuck yeah sweem!!! :D Have all the fun!

Anyway I was recently made very happy by

Frogs are one of my favourite animals and we used to get a lot of them - European common frogs are the only actual frog species we get around here - in my backyard because our elderly neighbours used to have a decent sized pond in their backyard. But they retired and moved out, and the next tenants had young children and were worried about the drowning risk, so filled it in :(

For many years, there were no amphibians at all in our back garden, and to try and encourage them back I installed a large pond planter which I tended carefully for some years until I added a second one this year, along with multiple 'watering holes' - aka plastic buckets sunk into the soil with branches in so whatever falls in can get out again- hidden in our planting beds.

Yesterday marks the second year in a row I've had confirmed sightings of frogs in my veggie patch once more!! :D I'm an organic gardener and loath man-made pesticides, so even if I wasn't so delighted by FROG I couldn't help but adore the presence of little insectivores like them

I didn't get a picture because he vanished into my kale patch as soon as he realised he was seen, but FROGGE!!! :D :D :D

 

I got a job at the local library! Going to the library as a kid (and even now) was always a comfort for me, who liked to hide away in stories, and they always have a peaceful aire about them. I'm really excited!

 

My sister starts as a ranch hand tomorrow! She's gonna learn to be a real actual cowgirl

First weekend of Jellystone Halloween starts Saturday! The clown maze is scary af this year and as long as it's okayed by the manager costumes are made by the individual employees! Which sounds lazy of management and cruel to ask them to spend out of pocket but the outdoor staff actually used to ask ahead of time if they can personalize so it's become tradition! Unfortunately I can't show pictures but they're genuinely frightening just looking at them and some would do great as like, actual clown monsters in movies

 

I find this mildly amusing but also clever and hopefully it'll serve its intended purpose.

 

I'm getting paid to edit a novel and the romantic couple ACTUALLY TALK TO EACH OTHER about a silly misunderstanding and solve it!!!

 

My honorary niece is gonna be a big sister!! :0 New Smol drops in April!

 

The monkeys at the local wildlife park had babies, and we fed the otters!

I've been replaying X as something to do offline since my brain weasels are bad atm, and I know the little buggers Teleport if you give them half a chance but I happened to have a Great Ball on me and :D :D

I've named him Shinsou because I've decided that I'm gonna pull from BHNA/MHA names for this playthrough

 

Someone made gummi bear replicas of the neolithic amber bear and I am DELIGHTED.

 

Health advisor says I'm doing amazingly well! We identified problem areas and they're fixable, and in general I'm doing great.
