It was a bit stressful organizing the Kintsugi streams, I always make things hard for myself, but they were both so much fun that I'm still a little giddy! (pst we are streaming Princess Bride tomorrow at noon, CDT, come watch and text chat about the movie with us) Also, I'm happily ensconced in a new fandom and it's great! Why are the robots so big? I can't hug them all.
(you can also vid chat if you feel up to it, I probably/might do that, cause last movie thing I did we did that and it was fun, but no pressure! :) )
Lovely fogbanks and warm rain from nature for my birthday :3 Also, there are apparently more people than I thought playing pokemon go in my little corner of nowhere! (The only local Gym has been both red and yellow, and I'm blue-- but no one I know is high-enough level to even fight in a gym, so there's at least two other people out there.)
i just joined in a squee-fest about pokemon go between two of my middle-aged managers, and another with the baristas at starbucks god bless this game
Oh man I've been having a good few days! The semester ended, and in my last class I presented the work I spent 3 weeks intensely laboring on to my drawing class - and got applause, compliments and 2 separate serious offers of purchase! Then the next day I ran a bunch of personal errands, got my passport, went to the mall, had lunch and bought a tiny but absolutely perfect digital camera as a birthday gift to myself, as well as a ton of fancy tea! After that, on Saturday my mom gave me the money to pay for sewing lessons which I've been wanting for over a year, and also I had my first of 4 anatomical drawing lessons, and that was in this really cozy room at night... and my teacher has this soft, lulling voice and he put on soft lights and soft music for us to draw to so I was actually dancing as I drew... it was beautiful... Then on Sunday went to the mall again, saw a cool book (but too expensive!!), got some free fancy tea because I had filled up a rewards card at the fancy tea store on Friday, bought myself an awesome new sketchbook and watched MasterChef Brazil with my family And today after taking care of a really major problem I rewarded myself with another visit to the art supplies store, got 14 colored pencils and a set of cheap and cute Koh-I-Noor watercolors which I've generally heard very favorable reviews on! I was so happy to find out my local art store had it, and especially that it was pretty cheap (given that this particular store is known for being costly...) And now, I'm off to have my first lesson on sewing clothes!!
Well I now know how to operate both an overlocker and an industrial sewing machine (as opposed to the domestic mode I have at home) as well as the Correct Ways to sew on a billion different buttons :D
I have had an emotional day and I'm with family I'm not close with and everything feels weird. But I'm able to check Kintsugi and that brings me back to normalcy somewhat, so it makes me happy that this place provides a link back to the life I'm comfortable with :)
