I took the bus by myself to my doctor's appointment today!!! ;w; I didn't have a panic attack!!!!!! so far I've been able to take the bus by myself twice since I started practicing, but the previous two times were with my cousin specifically waiting at the other end to make sure I was gonna be ok this time I did the entire trip on my own, and I was ok, I handled it. I feel really fucking relieved this has been a debilitating fear of mine since I was about 8 or 9, and I'm actually conquering it I'm just beside myself right now
New mattress! Ah, no more bed slats digging into my back. Foam mattress works fine for a year or so but it's definitely springs all the way from now on.
found a website with tons of old games to play, for free, SO much cool stuff to waste time on, JACKPOT!!
My solution has always been futon mattresses--I actually just sleep on one of those on the floor, no frame, because I like being closer to the ground when I sleep for some reason? But I've also personally had a few bad experiences with spring mattresses (I had one where one of the springs began to pop out and dig into me, and we weren't able to replace it for some time), so I might be biased there. (Nothing wrong with 'em if that's what you prefer, though!) Also, I'm happy because NEW SU PODCAST AND IT FOCUSES ON CONNIE. FUCK YES.
I ordered a little thylacine on a keychain to use as a bag charm and I've ordered several other thylas from this company before. This time, along with my cute tiny thyla they sent me a tiny huggy koala with an Australian flag (one of those little toys with the hinge in it that hug/clamps onto things like your jacket). I wore him to work and then put him on one of the cords attached to my monitor because wearing him on my jacket all the time would be kinda risky, he might fall off anywhere between my home in SF and my office in Oakland if I don't keep track. So now I have a huggy koala on one side of my monitor and then on the tower on the other side I have two thylacine models.
https://classicreload.com/ here's the old games website! it's even got stuff like daggerfall and also racing and action games, so there's a ton of variety

I've been playing the absolute heck out of Into The Breach, and it makes me so goddamn happy. It's probably my pick for Game of the Year, because I don't see how the next nine months are going to top it. I love strategy games, but they're usually either too simple to actually be properly engaging or too complicated to keep track of everything. Into The Breach is managing to be engaging, trackable, and just... really, really well designed. Also, I think I might be good at it? Like, not just regular "I play a lot of games and know how to play games as a result" good, but actually good? Not best in the world or anything, just... it's nice. I've missed feeling smart like this. Also, you get a free copy of FTL if you buy it on GOG before the 5th, so that's a plus.
I did not realize until I saw Black Panther how badly I needed an MCU movie with the narrative structure of a high fantasy story. Spoiler POLITICAL FACTIONS DECIDING WHERE TO PLACE THEIR LOYALTY AMONG MULTIPLE CLAIMANTS DEPENDING ON HOW THEY BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD OPERATE AND WHAT DIRECTION IT SHOULD GO IN THE FUTURE, AND THEN THERE'S AN ALL-OUT SPEARS-AND-SHIELDS-AND-RHINOS BRAWL BETWEEN THE FACTIONS 888DDD
I got a fuckton of free food at work today. The bulk grocery section is being reset and a lot of items were discontinued, so when I came into work today I was met with literally cartloads of stuff we don’t sell anymore being wheeled into the breakroom. In addition to some rice and nuts and stuff I got like five pounds of gummy candies and two pounds of fancy dark chocolate sea salt almonds :D
