it's just bittersweet because i still need 3 other figures to complete the collection, but FINALLY my Hikari Yagami figure by Megahouse arrived <3 I preordered her because Tailmon is one of my Top Favs and it's finally here. now i only need.... $85,00 USD for the Izumi Koushiro + Tentomon figure, and wait for Sora + Piyomon to be released and then i'll at least have my favs, if not the whole collection. (WHO WANTS COMMISSIONS? I CAN DO COMMISSIONS) if you ever feel like talking about DAI hmu. its one of my current obsessions and im sO HYPED about the SP DLC.
A tasty dinner of stuffed cabbage and mashed potatoes from the Jewish deli restaurant near my work. I feel SO FAT now, but happy.
Yesterday I stayed home, finished my study guide for my test today, and then sat on the couch eating gyoza (fried with minced garlic!) and watching Hawaii 5-0 for the rest of the night. Felt pretty fuckin sweet considering I've basically been living in the library these last couple days.
Thank Heaven for moirails and friends you know. The day before yesterday, the only good things were my beloved, beautiful, sweet moirail (I will fawn over him forever, I can't believe I scored a pale catch of his caliber) and my friend Will, both of whom talked me through some bad vibes and also were funny and adorable and intelligent and kind. Yesterday I basically reached out to EVERYONE I possibly could, and like. My uncle took the day off to take me shopping for whatever I wanted (I wanted a new pair of sturdy worker boots, which are my favorite kind of shoe in both comfort and style). My friend Gui came over to my place without batting an eye at my request and ate pão de queijo and drank tea with me and we watched RuPaul's Drag Race and slept cuddling together* and in his own words, filled out my entire cutlery drawer with spoons. And the two friends I did reach out to but who couldn't come over both checked in on me, Ana yesterday and the other Gui today. And now the other Gui (as in, not the one who slept over at my place) checked on me early this morning to ask me how I'm feeling and we set up a lunch friend date! * Fun storytime: I'm lucky to have a very intimate relationship with pretty much all my friends, because I'm a very physically affectionate person. So lots of petting, holding hands, hugging, spooning, cheek kisses etc. Any configuration of friends + me has at one point been mistaken for a couple or even a poly relationship. One time, me, my moirail and the Gui who slept over tonight all traveled to the countryside together and had to stay in 2 different hotel rooms with single beds because the hotel didn't allow the 3 of us to be in one room. So my moirail, who'd gotten the separate room, crept over to ourd, and we joined the two single beds, asked for extra blankets and pillows and slept all cuddled together in our underwear. We scandalized the hotel workers. 'Twas a beautiful thing.
To celebrate (?) my brother's departure, we threw a short-notice mini-party. Snacks, drinks, friends of brother dropping in here and there to say goodbye. And we watched Big Hero 6 (fun movie!) and sang Compline together.
Finally remembered to buy the new book from one of my favoritest authors which has been out for nine months. But finally did and it's great!
I binged Steven Universe yesterday. It made me wibble and I actually cried at a few points. I'm starting to feel better after a few weeks of utter non-function and starting to feel like people again.
My mom just rang the prayer bell and when I came downstairs she was like, "Hey, we're having a funeral service" and then I saw my brother's bag on the floor and then I saw my brother who left for """"Basic Training"""" yesterday and who is a HUGE JERK, by the way, because apparently the reason he didn't do anything for April Fool's last year is because he was saving it all up for this year. This kid fooled his family and his entire church! His recruiter was in on it! I drove him up to her office to drop him off so he could be "debriefed" before "leaving" and then after I left he called a friend to come get him and spent the rest of yesterday and all of today in hiding. This would be in the "annoying things" thread except I already hit him (several times) so now I'm just glad he's not actually gone yet. ^^ ETA: Dude walked like like six miles because my well-intentioned parents had me drive him to the recruiter's office (half an hour from our house) and drop him off - he'd been planning to tell them he would drive himself and they could pick up the car later, so he could have a car to drive around while he was in town.
Yeah I'm gonna call the recruiter and tell her to take him back 'cause he's a danger to civilians and needs to be unleashed on our enemies post-haste.
Today was a good day! I Accomplished Things, talked to my therapist about gender stuff for the first time (and was generally having a good gender day), and feel a lot better emotionally than I have been. I slept decently, I'm a little wobbly and physically unwell but I don't hurt and it's fine as long as I don't move too much. Also they still had Arrogant Bastard pints in at the store, plus the Sublimely Self-Righteous black IPA so I grabbed a bottle for myself and my dad again. It is amazing. I loved Arrogant Bastard, but this stuff is heaven in a bottle. It's way more bitter but balanced out with something fruity, something like grapefruit, very full bodied. Also I love the art on every Stone bottle (I love gargoyles!) but these have particularly badass designs. I think I'm going to keep the bottle up by dad's empty Arrogant Bastard. ETA: Further happymaking! My little sis really likes making cookies before bed. I love peanut butter cookies and rarely ever have them so I grabbed some dough while I was in town. She discovered them and made the first pack! Also gave me the first finished cookie ^^ She's a sweetheart.
I won't have work tomorrow!!!! The nurses are going on strike, so the office will be closed :3 Also, 15 people so far have complimented my haircut today. Many of them very enthusiastically, like pointing at their heads from across a crowded college classroom and mouthing "AWESOMEEE!" at me. Which is making me feel a lot better, because I was dreading showing up on campus. And also I've been reading fanfic again, which is one of my favorite de-stressors.
Long ago my auntie gave me an old war bond. I lost it. I was so ashamed. For the last few days, I've been spring cleaning like a boss and I found it! It's worth a little over $100.00 but that's not the thing. It's that something I've felt so stupid over for years and years is fixed. She bought it in 1943. :)
1. My amazing moirail is amazing and sweet and fed me coffee when he knew I was working hard and needing a pick-me-up 2. After college and work today, I'm going over to Gui's and we'll have tea and knit :D 3. My hair continues to have amazingly positive reactions. Yesterday 3 classmates of mine even made me twirl for them and then clapped, hehe :3 4. Talking about that in therapy gave me good feelings of the "people like me because I am a nice and charismatic person and not because of any given feature of my appearance, and becauze of that they are happy about any changes to my appearance that I feel I need to make to be happy" sort.
