I cleaned the kitchen! I even pulled things out and cleaned under them, and dusted! And I wiped down the walls, and mopped the floors!
Helped put up Hanukkah decorations, and dragged my menorah upstairs so that it can join the Surplus Of Menorahs currently gracing the living room/dining room
Made phone calls about insurance stuff, found out i have to call back on boxing day but Now i Know am doing laundry Signed some xmas cards which will be distributed on/after xmas but it ok
Looked after the neighbour's kid for the day, because she's still on winter vacation and their babysitter fell through. Helped her make two pillows for her parents with the kid-safe "sewing" machine she got for Christmas (a little battery-operated machine that has the needles completely enclosed and, as far as I can tell, uses no thread and just mashes the fabric together to 'sew' it) and entertained her for most of the day. Also, got an interview for tomorrow morning with Tim Hortons.
Did the interview, pretty sure I did good on most of it (did not do great on the "how are your change-making skills, using only mental math" bit, but I at least didn't bomb that part either...I hope), and then helped my parents tidy my grandparents' house. And then we visited my grandparents, and went to Costco. I have done Many Thing today, I'm tired.
More sewing - repaired some trousers - and sorted out some stuff to go to the charity shop (after my sister's picked through it).
Printed off some papers i needed and filled out a form to mail off, then remembered i need more papers but those can be sent separately so i'm sending the first batch today.
Vacuumed the bedrooms and hall, and put a towel wash on. Cleaned down bathroom sink and the toothbrush holder (considering using some Milton to disinfect toothbrushes but ehhh I hate having to make up 5 litres for a tiny object) and got carried away and ended up cleaning down the tiled walls, scrubbing out the shower door with bkf and cleaning and antibac spraying all the towel rails, loo roll holder and cistern. Tried to shine the taps but the chrome is dulled. (Wringing out microfibre cloths repeatedly is a great way to take the skin off your palms, as it happens! Do not recommend.) Hopefully have time to inventory some stuff and pack away before the light dies, sometime this century I might master the art of rising before 10.30am (don't count on it.)
