When I was floundering for plotlines for this, A pointed out– Bart built a functional time machine in a postapocolyptic wasteland as a slave. Put that together with the technology already present in Young Justice cartoonverse and Tim’s genius, and why couldn’t they build their own space/time machine? And of course they model it off of the TARDIS, because they’re nerds.
