Alright, lemme think about Lemi

Spoiler: Off the top of my head

• Lemi's entire house goes dark, with every light giving appliance save her computer and phone no longer working and possibly exploding. While looking for candles and supplies she fights a few imps and is able to beat them, and then she gets the shit beaten out of her by a single imp. After this fight she goes to sleep to heal. At some point during this she discovers that there are strange shadow/wraith creatures in her house as well as the imps, and that they cannot enter candlelight, but she has thus far been able to actually land a hit on one.
• After she wakes up she spends more time preparing and doing poorly in fights. At some point she gets in contact with Leon, her server player, and he helps her with the imps, double prototypes her Nessiesprite to Nessievisionsprite, and builds her house up to the first gate, so that she can find her second gate and hopefully meet up with him since she is kind of freaking out. A hole is blown in the wall of her bedroom, giving her access to the living room, and she spends like a good 10 minutes at least sniping imps with books and making questionable decisions with fire. She snatches a fly out of midair. This is the highlight of her SBURB career so far.
• She goes through her first gate, finding herself in a forest of barren trees and half melted candles. She has some encounters with more shadow creatures, including ones that are giant, shambling shadow blob beasts (if I remember correctly). She runs away from an ogre, falls down a small canyon, and ends up on a hill, where she can see a cluster of lights in the distance, and also that the ogre from before is back and has friends.
• They beat her to unconsciousness.
• I am fairly sure this is when she wakes up on Derse
• After she awakens, she stumbles down the hill to find an iguana that leads her to the village she saw before. There the iguana's daughter, the village healer, patches her up. I think Lemi might go back to sleep here?
• At some point during her Derse adventures she ends up at the castle, where she waits in a office room for an absurd amount of time, contemplates a Fenestrated Wall, has an audience with the Black Queen, and is invited to a ball to be held two eclipses from now.
• When she wakes back up she tries to help the iguanas out in thanks for saving her life. She learns that the shadow creatures are called Fears, and that the iguanas have lived in fear of them for generations, and that now with the added threat of the underlings they are unsure if they can keep surviving, especially since they are having to go further and further away from the village to harvest tallow for the candles. Lemi offers to try and protect them as they harvest candles, and has a conversation with Leon where she expresses worry that she'll be unable to help them since she's done so poorly in battles, and he tells her that at the very least she probably won't make things worse.
• They go out, find a basilisk, and due to a stupid tactical error Lemi makes an iguana dies in the first round. The iguanas end up saving her from the basilisk, and from the ogres and imps they encounter next, and basically drag her back to the village to heal. During these fights she gets hit hard enough that she takes some Grace damage. After this battle she gains the ability to steal the potential light from candles.
• She falls asleep, wakes up, has a conversation with Moss and Leon where she worries they shit out of them both, and then after dramatically logging off and realizing that she can't actually stand, she goes back to sleep. On Derse there is an eclipse, and she wanders through empty streets full of half heard Song before getting to the castle, where the guards drag her inside and tell her that it's dangerous to go out during the eclipse. She gets sent to a Dersite Clothier, who is the best, and there is a kickass dressmaking montage before Lemi hears something cryptic from a voice inside her head and wakes up in a panic.
• She spends an hour freaking out before Myrtha sends her something unintelligible over Pesterchum and Lemi relays the crpytic advice she got, namely that to stop the tenta-vomit she can either sing the song correctly or use the Unsong. Myrtha is saved and Lemi spends some time trying to fuss over her awkwardly. She rips the door off Myrtha's fridge.
• Ilma tells her that she saw Sis in a Prospit Cloud, and that Sis is out of bullets and needs help, but that the shadow monsters can be hit. Lemi is kind of unequipped to contemplate Sis's mortality. After building Myrtha's house up to the first gate and having a worrying conversation with Myrtha, she sneaks out of the iguana village, not wanting to face her shame (or the healer)
• She fights an ogre and is going to head east when she sees the iguana village under assault by three Crawling Horrors, the giant shadow assholes. Against the iguanas' advice she leads the Horrors away and traps them between four trees. She spends some time walking onward, during which she talks with Myrtha and Moss, until she is nearly hit by a tree and saved by an Idiosyncratic Pirate, who is also the best, and a Tireless Author who is her hostage.

...rereading the logs, I just noticed that Moss had a cloud vision of DT and FP meeting and DT stealing the wallet. I completely missed that connection the first time around. Also remembered that Lemi saw Leon's tower being all broken and stuff. Also Myrtha's dream room is blue.

Reading the logs also made me want to make Myrtha wake up on Derse soon so that she can give Lemi a proper hug. Unfortunately I think Myrtha is going to not want to sleep, at all, ever again.

Lemi actually likes Derse a lot, even after what Moss and Leon told her. She's had a much better time there than on LOFAC.

 

I feel like it'd be hard to have a worse time than the one she is having on LOFAC.

 

Waitwaitwait. I was just looking through the journal thing and Lemi hasn't alchemized ANYTHING? I mean I also haven't started using any alchemized weapons but she doesn't have any options!

Myrtha's blue markings don't actually look like that, but a) the dollmaker didn't have an option that looks like 'got grabbed by magic ogre' and b) this looks cool. The hair stains are probably pretty close though. Derse Princess Myrtha has no blue skin or hair because she is a dreamself.

Also it occurs to me that Lemi and Myrtha at least are probably going to look really pale in the future, considering they're in constant darkness. Might need to alchemize a sun lamp of some kind... sun rune+desklamp?

 

eh, not quite. I started the clock at 12:00 midnight for convenience's sake, and so I didn't have to worry about timezones.
Lemi's entry was probably 6:16 her time, and Myrtha's a just under an hour after that, if you wanna run the details.

 

ahhh, OK. Then Myrtha's nap was at 4 from 10 and now it is one in the morning.

Where is everyone from, anyways? Myrtha is somewhere in rural New England (I feel like I've said New York state? Though I haven't lived there, hopefully it's not too different from rural CT.)

Well now I can't stop thinking about the magical girl AU. I don't know how Myrtha ended up with a skeletal beasty in place of a magical girl mascot and the ring of Horrorterrors as her mystical-queen-lady figure, but she sure does have those.

 

Leon is ambiguously from NYC. I mean, not ambiguously, that's where he's from, i just don't know much about it :P

Also I enjoy how his magical girl thing sounds entirely like Tia. Actual magical girl AU Leon is music themed. Literal power chords. He does his own transformation music.

 

Lemi proobably lives in a Pacific Coastal Range and proooobably in Norcal. Maybe more inland though, I'm not sure, just that it is somewhere forested, mountainous, and with lots of redwoods. And also no people around, which is probably not super likely anymore, but hey.

Also I kinda love the idea of magical girl Lemi having multiple limbs and completely black eyes and other wierdness, and still trying to be a chipper magical girl because she wants to offset the creepy looks.

 

Looks like there's some land in the Northern Sierras with <1 person/sq mile that's not government-owned, although that mostly looks like scrub (plus plenty more land in the 1-10 people/sq mile range, including some forest)
and that's not even getting into the possibility of squatting on BLM land or something.

 

For some reason I thought that Leon lived further South, but I think that's because my brain went Leon is a Time Player, Dave is a Time Player, Dave lived in Texas (or I read fanfic where he did), ergo Leon is from the South. Ah, brains.

I should probably say that Myrtha is from a different state, though...
