I’ve always loved the word breakfast. If you enunciate each syllable the mouthfeel is truly delicious. Onomatopoeic, even.

 

I use it enough in my vocabulary i think to say that I just wholeheartedly enjoy saying Fool

I use it for like
Petnames and gentle insults, mostly associated with playfulness, for me

asayake and yuuyake from japanese—they translate roughly as "sunrise colors" and "sunset glow" respectively

 

Sashay! A word that feels just as dramatic as it's definition. Saying it fast and repeatedly it also kinda acts like a tongue twister

 

Oh man, I love this thread!! A few favorites of mine:

• Quirky is one of those words that sounds exactly like what it means, and I love that. Dramatic is another!
• Fuck is by FAR my favorite swear, largely because of how useful it is and how it’s easy to create new permutations of it (the aforementioned fucktangled, fucky, unfuck, etc.) that can actually sum things up quite well.
• Suboptimal. I love using this word in situations where shit’s fucked. (e.g. “The fridge is broken.” “Well, that’s...suboptimal.”)
• Limerent. It’s a word referring to an unhealthy kind of love—a deep form of infatuation with and idealization of a person that demands reciprocation. It’s a useful concept, to be sure, but mostly I just like it because it’s pretty. It looks nice, it rolls off the tongue nicely...
• I can’t remember the actual word, or even the language (I THINK Finnish but I’m not at all sure), but there is a word, equivalent in colloquial meaning to “grammar Nazi,” that literally translates to “commafucker,” and I’ve gotta say that I think commafucker itself is a fantastic word that we should all use.
• And possibly my favorite word: duende. It’s a Spanish word that is considered impossible (or near-impossible) to translate into English; it loosely translates to “soul,” but very specifically refers to art, most often flamenco, and the emotions it invokes, with connotations of heightened authenticity. I love literally everything about it.

 

A finnish friend translated that word as dotfucker.

 

That is just as good. I approve.

Honestly, what I love the most about it is the silliness of it. It’s like...“IF YOU LOVE PUNCTUATION SO MUCH WHY DON’T YA MARRY IT??”

Sabaw which means soup BUT also is slang for when you're being super silly or 'out there' cause you're really tired or so done with something that you can't help but wild out

Kilig which is a fun word that means like feeling excitement or the wiggles because of one's crush or significant other

I think this one is interesting but it zags me every time cause in tagalog we have 2 we's, tayo which is we that includes the person you are talking to, and kami, which doesn't include the person you are talking to. I will remember this forever because I have constantly been corrected when I talk to others lol

English does too! twitterpated means basically the same thing. (although, modern context on the word "twitter" might change the connotation a little...)

...which is probably why i like my name shortened to Les so much now that i think about it. I like three letter things.
