sure you were. ;)
I've got an ooc question and I forget if you wanted these via pm or spoiler so I'll ask here and find out :0
the Important Capitalized Titles that the small and daring kobold is mentioning, Ebon Lady and Cyan King, are those names of high-placed important cultists that Thunder might recognize?
As is I'm inclined to a post where Thunder wonders whether he means a wearer of purple or an inexplicably purple-skinned human
spoilers work fine!
Spoiler: I hope you feel guilty, person who isn't Swirl
uhhhhh well I lowkey made those titles up? but you're familiar enough with kobolds to guess that they call half-dragons lords and ladies, and full dragons kings and queens. and the color things are, well, the colors of the draconic personages in question. Thunder would be the [pretentious synonym for "blue"] Lord.
edit: POINT BEING he knows they're talking about a female black half-dragon and a male blue dragon, but not which dragon and half-dragon.
also PLEASE DO IT
Spoiler: posting this here and not in IC since it's just a roll?
this time i shall REMEMBER the advantage
roll 1: 9+0 = 9
roll 2: 1+0 = 1
so that's a 9, then.
in future i'll try and remember to pre-emptively roll this stuff :p
so the format's familiar and probably still being used the same, given the context in which they used them. that makes sense.
adds to roleplaying to-do list: search for pretentious synonyms for blue
Alright I am back from outer space. should I try and do a slight recap of what Aura was up too when Shit Started Going Down or should I jump into fight as best I can?
whichever you'd like!
sorry, guys, I've been doing the Ghosting Thing that I asked you all not to do. :/ my apologies. but anyway, I'm experiencing a Massive Dearth Of Spoons at the moment, so much so that I'm looking for a place to go for in-patient treatment for a couple months, and posts May Not Be Happening for a period of time. again, sorry for bringing this to a screeching halt for all of you, and I promise this is real high up on my list of Things I Should Do. :)
@esotericPrognosticator take care of yourself, dude. thanks for letting us know.
ALSO I am kind of anxious and guilty-feeling about this, but. I have been hanging around here reading a couple of threads and occasionally making unimportant comments, so it's not like I'm Not On The Forum. and my brain is kinda like "WELL IF YOU'RE DOING ANYTHING ON THE FORUM, OBVIOUSLY YOU'RE JUST BEING LAZY ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN YOU HYPOCRITE," but I'm like 95% sure that that is brainbug bullshit, and my main strategy for dealing with that is Aggressively Doing What The Brainbugs Don't Want Me To Do, so. just to be upfront about all that.
(@garden damn I wish there were a "you're welcome" rating. or that I had that card image from Homestuck saved. but anyway, yeah, 's what I meant.)
@esotericPrognosticator nah, it makes sense that this would take more spoons than other forum stuff. it def sounds like brainbug bullshit.
Honestly, I'm glad you can be here doing other things, and no worries from this end about it. Definitely sounds like brainbug bullshit, and I hope that it remains minor enough you can enjoy the site. Last time I ran into a bad pack of those about not making a post I vanished for a year to not have the On The Forum thing weighing me down. :(
But also, like what @garden said, running a campaign takes way more spoons than regular foruming.
hello, dear players, I have returned! and this is what happened to me, more or less. how are you folks doing? if you're still interested in the campaign (I'd understand if you're not, though, seeing as it's been a year) I sure am!
@The Frood Abides @swirlingflight @Helen of Boy @garden @NevermorePoe @KarrinBlue role call!
I'm still interested, i'll just need to find my character sheet again, or remake a physical copy to keep track of things.
yeah, i'd be interested!
I am 100% still interested in playing Salt, and this game, and y'all, etc.
@Lazarae forgot you in the initial pings, my apologies! I know you were taking a pause when we first started, but it's been a while, and your situation might've changed. you deserve a notification, anyway. so yeah! interested?
@NevermorePoe here's the character sheet you've posted in this thread, which probably has at least a fair amount of the stuff on the one you can't find? it's linked in the very first post in this thread, so it might be easier to reference it that way. :)
since a lot of you have replied already (and so fast! I am touched!), here are some mechanical questions before we start play again:
for those of you who might not know, in the past year there's been an official 5e rules expansion published called Xanathar's Guide to Everything. (the title's a flavor thing.) it's got a lot of cool stuff in it, and I recommend it to anyone who can get their paws on it, but (most importantly right now!) it has a bunch of new spells in it. this'll be is particularly important for @garden, @NevermorePoe, and @KarrinBlue as runners of primary casters, but it'll be relevant to @The Frood Abides and @Helen of Boy eventually when they get their spells, too. my question is whether you guys want to use those spells. we don't have to if the expansion seems overwhelming—which it might, especially for Honor and Vitae, who have the preparation mechanic and can pick from a huge list anyway—but if we're going to, I want to ensure that everyone can access them as easily as they can access the core spells, and that people have a chance to pick from the expanded spells/edit their spells known or prepared before we get too far into things. (especially because there are a lot of new cantrips, some of which are pretty neat, that you all might want to use.)
it also contains a lot of new subclass (to be specific to all of you: divine domains, druidic circles, martial archetypes, sacred oaths, ranger archetypes, and otherworldly patrons) options. most of you don't have to pick a subclass yet, but @garden you might want to check out the Grave domain, if you didn't look at it already, and @KarrinBlue I'm not sure if the rules for the Hexblade Patron in XGtE are different than the Unearthed Arcana ones, so you might want to check that out. but all of you are going to be picking subclasses by third level, so do you guys think the new subclasses should be available? this doesn't necessarily have to match your decision re: the spells, btw.
finally, also, I've decided XP are kind of bullshit, and I'd rather confer levels based on broader plot point completion, but if anyone has objections or arguments in favor of XP, I'd like to hear 'em. :)
so whaddaya think? (classic me tbh back for one post and already jumping in with the nitpicky mechanical questions)
The Hexblade rules are different! In UA there's a sixth level? trick called Shadow Hound where a hexblade's shadow can become a pursuer of foes, and that's changed to the Accursed Specter.
