The idea for this thread is to avoid an abundance of posting new threads, by simply asking whether the new thread idea you had is already present! Guidelines for asking: Start with "Is there a thread for _____?" Follow up with any clarifying details that might seperate it from another similar topic. An example could be "Is there a thread for roleplaying? Not a thread in which there is roleplaying, but a thread to show me how to do forum roleplay." Guidelines for answering: Answer as clearly and concisely as possible, including variants on the theme. Add any clarifying details that might influence the decision. Add a link to the thread or threads if one or more are present, or the relevant forum if one is not. An example answer to the above example question would therefore be "Yes, there are four. The first one is here, and covers how to make your RP within the guidelines of the forum. The second one is here, and is primarily discussion of various boundaries people have when interacting with the medium. The third one is here, and is about how to go about getting into an RP. The fourth one is here, and is about having trouble making yourself get into RP.
I'll start! Is there a thread for getting help/helping people do simple research? I really enjoy looking stuff up, and I've got search terms down to an art form, and I want to help people who can't due to mental issues preventing them from doing it themselves!
Ironically, there is a thread for this. :P That said, having a version in TSM would probably be a good idea, since that’s the first place I’d check. I don’t think there’s a thread specifically about helping with research, but it may be buried in one of the Grad School threads.
probably a good idea, meta's going to be the first place people look for this, and there's less to trawl through than in general
